Tube amps age in predictable ways: power tubes wear out, filter caps dry up and the bias drifts. The shops in this list work on tube guitar amps, from vintage combos to modern boutique heads. Typical jobs are retubing and biasing, cap jobs, scratchy pots and jacks, hum and crackle, and transformer problems.
Please don't open the chassis yourself: filter caps can hold a dangerous charge even when the amp is unplugged. Call ahead with the make and model, because some techs only take certain brands or have a waiting list.
