Sam Guidry Guitars brings over two decades of professional luthiery expertise to Big Rapids, Michigan. Owner Sam Guidry began his journey in 1999 at The Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair, where his exceptional skills earned him an apprenticeship at the renowned Galloup shop. For twenty years, he honed his craft through guitar building, repair work, research, and teaching before establishing his own label in 2013.

Guidry’s background uniquely positions him as both a master builder and skilled guitar tech. He spent nearly a decade leading research into the scientific and engineering aspects of acoustic guitars, developing construction methods based on empirical measurements for consistent, superior results. His experience encompasses every aspect of instrument repair and setup, from fundamental woodworking techniques to advanced voicing and tonal optimization.

Since opening his own workshop, Guidry has dedicated himself to creating meticulously crafted instruments known for their responsiveness, clarity, and rich sound.
