Profile
Music Emporium has been Fargo’s trusted destination for professional string instrument repair since 1983, when luthier Jerry Werner established the shop in the city’s historic downtown district. After completing his training at Red Wing Technical College in Minnesota and apprenticing with Chuck Orr at The Guitar Shop in Minneapolis, Werner brought his specialized skills to North Dakota’s music community.
Operating out of a spacious workshop exceeding 6,000 square feet, Werner handles everything from routine guitar setups and fretwork to complex structural repairs on acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, violins, violas, cellos, and basses. His expertise covers instrument body crack repairs, bridge work, tuning peg replacement, and re-stringing services. The shop also provides bow re-hairing for orchestral string players.
Beyond restoration work, Music Emporium offers custom boutique guitar builds for musicians seeking personalized instruments crafted to their specifications. Werner’s decades of experience as a guitar tech allow him to tackle even the most challenging luthier work. The shop also serves local schools throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area, extending the life of student instruments through expert repair and maintenance.
