Owner Kelley Lane has spent 38 years as a professional instrument technician, combining his lifelong passion for music with hands-on luthier skills learned from renowned craftsmen including Wayne Henderson. Since 2007, Lane has dedicated himself to mastering the art of guitar construction and restoration.

The shop specializes in comprehensive guitar repair services, with particular expertise in vintage guitar work and restorations from the golden age of American guitar making. Lane actively embraces complex restoration projects that many luthiers avoid, offering neck resets, bridge replacement, fret jobs, fingerboard repair, crack repair, and period-appropriate restorations. His experience extends to full top replacements and finish touchups using traditional nitrocellulose lacquer.

Beyond repair work, the shop creates handcrafted custom acoustic guitars based on prewar Martin designs from the 1930s and 40s. Each boutique instrument is hand-cut and assembled using traditional techniques, with custom-shaped necks fitted to individual players. Lane’s dual focus on building and restoration provides deep insight into what makes these instruments perform at their best.
