KYR Music has been serving the Chino music community since 2002, when it was founded by Karen and Richard Firman with a mission to support local musicians through comprehensive instrument services. Richard Firman brings over 25 years of teaching experience and professional performance credentials to the business. A Cal Poly Pomona graduate who studied under renowned instructors including Vernon Howard of the Stan Kenton Big Band, Richard has toured nationally and performed alongside notable musicians like Jack Sheldon and Tom Kubis. His expertise as a woodwind specialist and active Southern California performer informs the shop’s approach to instrument repair and setup work.
