Profile
Johnson Music has been serving the Dracut community since 2004, when owners Michael and Maureen Keefe Johnson opened their doors on Pleasant Street. With Maureen’s Master’s Degree in Music Education and 31 years teaching in local schools, plus Michael’s retirement transition from the Tyngsboro Police Department into full-time music work, the shop combines deep musical knowledge with hands-on technical expertise.
The repair service at Johnson Music handles comprehensive instrument work at reasonable prices, covering most band and fretted instruments. Their guitar repair capabilities include restringing, setup work, and fretwork on acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, along with banjos, mandolins, and ukuleles. The shop also provides essential support for orchestra and school band instrument needs, offering re-padding and re-corking services for woodwinds and brass instruments, plus ultrasonic cleaning for select instruments.
Beyond their guitar tech services, Johnson Music stocks quality repair accessories including strings from D’Addario, Martin, and Ernie Ball, along with tuners, capos, and various hardware. The combination of professional instrument repair, teaching experience, and genuine community connection makes this a trusted resource for local musicians.
